August 7, 2026: Next Fresh Friday Market on 2^nd Street in Maysville, Kentucky. 6:00 pm- 9:00 pm. Go eat dinner at Babz Bistro or Sol and Sage, or Hippie Burger then come shop the market. It can be a whole thing. It would be amazing to see some people come through and support the vendors. The location is just lovely. We are bringing straight bunches this week for folks doing DIY arrangements over the weekend. It is a flex to tell your friends and family that you get your flowers locally grown. Trust me on this.

September 1^st 2026: Next email subscriber giveaway winner chosen!

September 3, 2026: OAK Field Day at Loving Farm where we will be talking about the development of a filter strip along the railroad track in addition to other ways we incorporate conservation on our farm. It is free to attend and our favorite vegan food cart will be here selling her delicious food. Be ready to NERD OUT!

Saturday, September 26^th. To celebrate the harvest moon, we are teaming up with Graceful Serenity Yoga for a half day retreat hosted here at the farm filled with flower crown crafting, yoga, herbal teas and a sound bath! Register here.

Hello Flower Lovers!

Our hearts are so full. Out of all of the incredible things that happened this week (one being able to see one of our first Airbnb guests who was in Newport for Paddlefest), we ended it by hosting a family camp with a group of friends on Saturday night. An ex coworker-turned good friend was visiting from overseas, so we scheduled a camp out with their family and two other couples with kids. The weather was looking ominous but we carried on as if it would blow over and prepared for a deluge. We squeezed in all of the things in a 24 hour period: campfire with hotdogs and smores, creek walk, coloring, flower crown making, philisophical conversation, so many snacks, growlers of Turtleback Ridge beer (#notsponsored), tent camping, and a Howard encounter after tossing mealworms out for the ducks. I know my aunties would be proud of us on our execution of the whole thing. Oh, and Tux and Oscar really filled up on some pets too! I learned about a book series that I must explore called, Warriors, by Erin Hunter. Tux’s Warrior name is “Snowbelly”, as given by one of the children.

There are so many other special moments we crammed in there. Next year I want to have a bicycle hooked up to a cart to transport things from site to site. It will be a time saver. One thing is for sure, we all got our steps in moving around with the weather. Maybe someone has an idea for a pully system we can configure to get stuff down to the creek from up top? With one of those clothesline winders? Regardless, I think we might have an annual tradition ahead of us, already talking about doing it again next year with the same group.

Thanks to anyone who bought or helped us sell a flower this week. Perriee is picking our bucket up from Lil Jumbos a little emptier than when we brought it on Friday. It was a good week and it appears we will be taking some nice extras to the flower market on Tuesday. We are also planning on doing straight bunches this Friday at the market in Marysville, so if you have an event on Saturday or Sunday that you were planning on getting diy flowers for, please consider getting your flowers from us. Feel free to reach out ahead and see what we may have. There is also another flower vendor there who has beautiful blooms to sell. Just get them local, for goodness sakes, and tell everyone else to do the same. It makes a huge impact, even when we sell two or three bunches at a time.

Pride and Flock Update:

Like I said, we had a “Howard Encounter”, since he is the easiest of the ducks to catch. I think it is good for him to get the positive attention. We stopped him for some beak rubs and everyone got a chance to touch his cheese feet, which I mentioned might be a little dinosaur-like.

Tux and Oscar got all the love they wanted from the kids who were so kind to them both. Oscar also made sure to have some morning coffee with the adults.

The outside three likely kept a close watch on us from nearby, but mostly stayed away until mealtimes. We don’t mind that they are shy around strangers. It seems like a good instinct to have in your back pocket when you are in the wild pretty often, like they are.
