Hello Flower Lovers!

We did it! The last wedding of the year is in the books (unless someone out there is getting hitched by the end of 2026 and needs some dried arrangements, in which case get in touch with us!). As far as we know it all went well after they picked everything up. No news is good news, I suppose! Perriee and I were super excited about what we provided and hope they loved it all as much as we did. Flowers are so cool because off they went to make some other people as happy as they made us.

I went to The Kentucky Flower Market on Tuesday to pick up a bunch of ageratum to use in our designs and came home with two other bunches of mums that made the most spectacular statement in the arrangements. We had never ordered flowers for work before, so it felt like a right of passage for us. It was so amazing to realize that with that ONE purchase at the flower collective, in turn supported FIVE small businesses (including ours). Firmly Rooted grew the ageratum, Owls Nest grew the maroon mums and the yellow mums came from Wild Roots Flower Farm, all from the market, all women owned businesses. I felt like Meryl Streep from her role in The Hours, shopping for flowers and then carrying them around in their paper wraps. It was invigorating and a bit addicting! I hope we get to do some more work in the future where we get to shop like that again. Perriee stayed home and enjoyed her birthday. Check out this cake we made to celebrate it- lemon with buttercream icing. Sooo much butter.

The main bouquet ended up enormous, and hopefully not too big, but it was gorgeous! Each of the attendant bouquets were unique and stunning and it was so much fun to work together on making them all. We were both really happy with the pillar wraps too, beyond excited to have a chance to design with so many dried flowers. The day the client picked them up we popped in some tiny zinnias and marigolds to brighten them up and tubed one of the gold mums in water for each one. I hope they share a couple of pictures with us so we can see it all in action!

We managed to squeeze in our early voting between finishing the wedding flowers on Thursday and waiting for them to be picked up, so consider this your reminder to go cast your ballot on November 3 if you have not yet done so.

The rest of the weekend was spent doing homework for flower class on Monday, weeding and prepping beds for winter and celebrating with friends. I am so sorry if you missed karaoke at Turtleback on Saturday. A good time was had!

Tulip bulbs are going in soon. We will be offering a tulip CSA in the spring which will guarantee you two ten stem bunches of tulips between March and April 2027, about two weeks apart from one another. We are charging $35 for each share and will have 20 spots available. This is an easy way to get some tulips in your life when you just cant take one more dreary winter day, or have a way to easily give a gift to someone else around that time! If you saw our tulips last year, it is the same variety pack of perfect classic tulips.

Thank you for the google review and thanks to the new people on the email list! Thirty-six more to go and we will be at 300! That tent is still available if anyone was wondering!

Pride and flock update: All is well in fur and feather world.
