Hello Flower Lovers!

Welcome back to another episode of, “Wedding Week, 2026”! This past week was a prequel and it went rather well! We got some flower crowns completed, parceled out a huge box of dried, native aster that they said they are making centerpieces with, knocked out the design for the pillar wraps and picked up a couple of last-minute supplies for the bouquets. The zinnias are still pushing out some blooms with this warm weather we are having so we are going to have a great supply of fresh flowers to work with in addition to a couple of bunches of ageratum we bought from The Kentucky Flower Market. Huge steps. We are so excited to see it all in aggregate before they pick it all up on Thursday.

The crowns were initially challenging, as we are used to making them with folks who can try on their grapevine base to make sure it fits them and we usually tie on the flowers with string or twine. For the wedding, we used wire bases that will have ribbon ties so they can fit them to their heads and wrapped them with wire to attach the flowers. We used Ellen Frost’s video (and advice) to get us through it and love the outcome!

It has been an amazing week studying floristry and design with the FlowerMore online community. In the last few days we had both a question-and-answer session on selling to florists and our one-on-one meeting with Ellen Frost that members get when you are new to the group. We asked so many questions, and she was so supportive and kind in all of her advice. It has already been so valuable to us in the couple of months we have been in it. We even bought some seeds from Cassia at Jig Bee Seeds, one of the members we met on one of the calls!

Furthermore, we get to start our other flower class that we are taking with Jenny Marks this week. All of this, our membership to FlowerMore and the Six Figure Flower Farming class were made possible by KY Greenworks who reimbursed us for both of the classes. It is the perfect time of the season for it all, having a bit more time to spend on the business side of things. We have big plans for next year!

We will learn how to sell these beautiful late week harvests.

One of the things we talked about at our meeting was to ask all of you to share this blog with another person you know who loves flowers and let them know they can be a part of this flower club too! We would LOVE to reach 300 subscribers by the end of the year, at which time we will pick two giveaway winners for the month that we get there! As of this writing we are 259 strong and so grateful. Anyone can sign up on the home page of our website by filling in their email address in the subscribe box.

If you are so inclined, check out our Google Business profile and give us a 5-star rating if you are into it! I did a little bit of work on it to get our logo updated and some other small details, like removing a duplicate profile I created a million years ago. These are just things you can do to support us that does not cost any money, but is so helpful to keeping us going, especially going into the slower season. Thank you!

The other big thing we are going to be better at is sending a “sale” email later in the week for those of you who might need some flowers to buy when our second harvest has us sitting in some blooms to move (we typically harvest twice a week). There could be a wreath in there too, or maybe some catnip or just some dried flowers! It will be titled, “Loving Farm End of Week Sale” to help you differentiate it from the newsletter that goes out on Mondays! The goal is for it to be short and to-the-point so you can glance at it quickly to see if we are selling something you are looking to buy. Let us know what you think about it!

Be on the Lookout/Trade or buy our tent!

We are selling our bell tent to the highest bidder. We are open to trading for an electric stove with a good oven if you don’t have the funds for it and happen to have an oven sitting around. Oh my gosh we loved our tipi so much and the tent was an attempt to replace it, but it just never worked out. We spent over a thousand dollars on it, and it certainly is not worth what we paid for it, but it is still cool. It could use a good power washing. Anyone? Email or text or call or whatever if you are interested.

Pride and Flock Update: The ducks helped us so much this week, weeding and prepping our garden beds for winter with us. They are the best company while pulling weeds. We seeded some oats and crimson clover over top of them so far, hoping to get a bit of growth before the cold sets in. It is a little late for the oats I think but we bought a 50 pound bag so it is worth a shot. We have also been getting an egg or two a day again which is so welcome and appreciated. They are amazing how they turn slugs into eggs! A miracle.
