September 3, 2026: OAK Field Day at Loving Farm where we will be talking about the development of a filter strip along the railroad track in addition to other ways we incorporate conservation on our farm. It is free to attend and our favorite vegan food cart will be here selling her delicious food. September 4, 2026: Next Fresh Friday Market on 2^nd Street in Maysville, Kentucky. 6:00 pm- 9:00 pm. Go eat dinner at Babz Bistro or Sol and Sage, or Hippie Burger then come shop the market. It can be a whole thing. The location is just lovely.

Saturday, September 26^th. To celebrate the harvest moon, we are teaming up with Graceful Serenity Yoga for a half day retreat hosted here at the farm filled with flower crown crafting using our homegrown ingredients, yoga, herbal teas and a sound bath! Register here.

Hello Flower Lovers!

We did it! Perriee and I are on the other side of our first big wedding and both of us are exhausted and elated around how it turned out. It was the perfect opportunity to try so many new things in a safe and familiar space of Turtleback Ridge Brewery. There were giant pot arrangements that we used both fresh and dried ingredients in, potted plants that we have been loving on since spring, sign decorating, and a railing garland and archway installation. It was so rewarding using all home-grown ingredients in all of our designs.

We did a practice run on the deck railing and archway on Monday to sort of see how everything would be attached and how the flowers would behave. One of the coolest parts of it was to use a ton of forsythia branches as the base of the arch and railing installation. There was twine, some green wire, a little bit of chicken wire and lots of good energy involved in the whole thing. It was cool working out these new design approaches, including the pricing behind it, now that we did it all. Let me tell you, we have a new appreciation for why flowers for big events cost what they do. It is a labor of love.

To top it off, we got to see the couple get married surrounded by so many people that love them so much. We love our community more than we can ever express.

After a Sunday doing practically nothing except the obligatory duck chores and a little bit of laundry, we will be back at it this week, prepping the farm for our upcoming OAK field day on September 3! Pride and flock update:

Howard is spending more and more time with the ladies without big incidents. Like, maybe 15 minutes or so at a time. I guess spring hormones are almost done! We are down to 1 egg a day which we believe is from Dayz, the old lady. George is taking some antibiotics for a big abscess he had on his head. He is the BEST cat ever for taking medicine. I think he is a big believer in science and medicine.
