Important dates:
April 1, 2026: Monthly giveaway winner drawing.
April 3, 2026 (6pm-9pm): First Fresh Fridays Maysville on 2nd Street. There will be pecan turtle candy there and most definitely tulip bunches (5 stem and 10 stem wrapped $10/20) You can also pre-order any amount that we can wrap up ahead of time and you can pick up there.
April 19th: Find us at Sawstone Brewery in Morehead for a pre-Earth Day event.
April 25th, 2026: Third Annual Earth Day Celebration at Loving Farm. It is going to be a great day, rain or shine. About the donation…if it is a toss up between a vegan brat and some crafts or a donation, please come to get a snack and some art and support our vendors. The point of doing it like this for Earth Day is so that more people can come enjoy the farm for a day, even if they can’t pay ten dollar donation fee.

May 17th 2026: The Wildwood Faire at Talon Winery and Vineyards in Lexington, Kentucky. We will be there hosting flower crown workshops. We have been practicing with all kinds of fun ingredients. You are going to want one for yourself.
June 20th 2026: Find us at Olla, Covington for their second, annual Pollinator Market! We love our Covington connections and are honored to have been asked to vend that day with everyone.
September 3, 2026: OAK Field Day at Loving Farm where we will be talking about the development of a filter strip along the railroad track. More info to come!
Holleeeee tulips! If you need a bunch anytime this week, just holler. They are beautiful and we would love to sell you some so you can have some locally grown tulips to admire. We can arrange a time for pickup unless you want to pick them up in Maysville this Friday between 6 and 9 pm. We will be there for the Fresh Friday market near the Purple Llama.

The warm temps this week hit the gas on those little buds and our cooler is filling up with them. The first flush all ended up coral-pink-orange (I don’t know what to call it but they are lovely). Behind it appear to be more of a mix with some yellows too.
Shout out to Scarlet Begonia’s in Covington for buying our first flush this week and to Lasting Impressions in Flemingsburg for their first wholesale order from us. It was a pleasure packing up a wholesale order for a delivery 10 minutes away!
If you love watching us grow these beauties, we are accepting gifts of tulip bulbs to plant for next year, if anyone is looking for a way to support us in a collaborative way. We absolutely want to grow them again, but we are on the fence about putting the money up for them now until we can see how these sell. It is time to buy fall bulbs now, consequently. The whole process is pretty thrilling and we love having them to offer to the community.
We can trade the first 300 tulips for every 1000 bulbs (maximum 3000 bulbs because that is what we can handle). We don’t care what variety or color they are. I believe all of the bulbs we get are shipped here from overseas, but so are the full-grown tulips, unless you get them from a florist who buys local flowers or directly from a farmer in the area. Think about the difference between mailing a tulip bulb versus a full-grown flower! Let us know if you have interest!
As a reminder, tulips for cut flower usage are grown as annuals, meaning you pull the bulb out with the foliage when harvesting them to get a longer stem and better ability to store them for freshness, which is why we have to buy more bulbs each season. We would also like to plant a permanent patch to keep as a place to stop for a photo op, as we have heard interest from several of you that you want to come take in some tulips with the eyes and maybe your camera. Us too.
Also, be mindful of mixing your cut daffodils with other flowers, like tulips, unless you have first conditioned them by letting the sap drain out for several hours after cutting them (even after fresh cuts). Not doing so can impact the quality and vase life of your blooms.
We shop at Holland Bulb Farms. Basic and it does the job.
Check out these pics here for some other updates from the week. Things are growing on!

Pride Update
Howard is officially in “drake jail season” so we are keeping him mostly separated from the ladies, especially Baby, who is his go-to. The cats are spectacular.
